Setting Up A Craft Area

Setting up a craft shelf or area can be easy and fun. You do not need a large area or complicated set up. What I do is set up 4 stacking bins with supplies. One holds the tools such as the crayons, glue, gluesticks, rubbing plates, scissors, etc. One holds different types of paper. Another bin holds special craft items such as pom poms, buttons, googly eyes, paper bags, stickers, etc. The last bin holds junk treasures such as milk cartons, tubes, boxes, etc. I do not put all the items out each week, what I do is refill the bins with new items every few weeks or so. One week there may be pom poms and googly eyes with tubes and boxes. Another week may hold pipecleaners, fun foam, woodsies, and milk cartons. Mixing and putting out new and exciting items keeps the art area interesting and inviting and USED by the children!
